9 Travel Tips for 2023

Our Pinterest boards are filled with new destinations we are ready to see. In case you forgot how to travel – here are 9 tips to plan, enjoy, and stay safe on your 2023 travels.

Make a "Must See" List

As soon as you start dreaming of your destination – start creating a "must see" list of places to visit and things to do. Often times your trip will get busy and you don't want to miss anything. Prioritize the list, you may not have time for everything.

Make a Packing List

Even before you are ready to pack your bags – start making the list of items you will need to bring. Often times you will randomly think of something to bring – especially when you are browsing photos or destination guides.

Take a Picture of your ID & Vaccination Card

Take a photo of your license/identification and vaccination card in case your wallet or paperwork gets lost or stolen. Having it easily assessable on your phone could also come in handy when carrying luggage. Plus, you don't always know the requirements of every where you will visit.

Check the Weather

Prior to packing, check the weather extremes for your trip. If there is even a slight chance of extreme weather (rain, snow, cold) it's best to pack for it. Also, pack that sunscreen and lip balm – you can still get brunt in the cold weather.

Plan Ahead & Save Money

Traveling is not cheap. You are away form your home, your own accessories, kitchen, and sometimes even your own vehicle – and all these things cost money. If you plan ahead and know what is available and what options you have, you can often times save yourself time and money.

Put the Phone Down

We've all seen the zombies walking around staring at their phone completely oblivious to their surroundings. Unless you are taking a picture or searching for the best local cafe – PUT THE PHONE DOWN.

Say Hello & Ask Questions

We're just coming out of quarantine and it seems we have forgotten how to interact with each other. Take the time to say hello to those around you and ask questions to those you meet. Locals are the best way to learn about hidden gems that can be the highlight of your trip. Plus, you don't want to be that jerk tourist.

Find YOU Time

Traveling with friends and family can lead to great times and memories together. However, there is a peace that comes with spending a little time alone to reset your mind and focus your thoughts. Take some time every once and a while and get some fresh air alone.

Lastly, ENJOY YOURSELF

Travel can be fun – but it can also be stressful when things don't go according to your plan. Expect the unexpected. Remember to relax and enjoy yourself. Make the best of every situation.
